GHK-Cu Research & Studies Guide
Discover the latest insights on GHK-Cu research & studies: what it is, what has been studied and what the findings show.
GHK-Cu Research Guide: What the Studies Show
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide studied mainly in skin, wound healing and tissue research. MyPep Biotech supplies GHK-Cu for laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is GHK-Cu, and why are researchers studying it?
GHK-Cu is made of three amino acids (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) bound to a copper ion. It was first identified in human plasma by Dr Loren Pickart in the 1970s. Researchers study it because it is reported to influence collagen production, wound repair and the activity of many genes involved in tissue remodelling.

The current state of GHK-Cu research
- Skin research: studies on collagen, skin thickness and wrinkles, including in cosmetic formulations.
- Wound research: animal studies on wound healing.
- Gene expression: laboratory studies on how GHK affects gene activity.
What do GHK-Cu studies show so far?
Laboratory and animal studies reported that GHK-Cu supported collagen synthesis and wound repair, and small cosmetic studies reported improvements in skin measures with topical use. Large controlled clinical trials are limited.
Safety considerations and limitations
Most human data comes from topical cosmetic use. Data on other routes is limited.
How to read GHK-Cu research without getting misled
- Check whether a result comes from cells, animals or people.
- Look at the study size, length and comparison group.
- Prefer peer-reviewed journals and trial registries over social media claims.
- Remember that early findings often do not carry over to later studies.
Bottom line for researchers
GHK-Cu is one of the best-known tissue and skin research peptides. MyPep Biotech supplies GHK-Cu 50mg and 100mg vials from £24.99, plus two GHK-Cu blend pens. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
