Epitalon Research & Studies Guide
Discover the latest insights on Epitalon research & studies: what it is, what has been studied and what the findings show.
Epitalon Research Guide: What the Studies Show
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied in ageing research, particularly in relation to telomeres and the pineal gland. MyPep Biotech supplies Epitalon for laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Epitalon, and why are researchers studying it?
Epitalon is a four-amino-acid peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson’s group in Russia, based on a pineal gland extract called epithalamin. Researchers study it for its reported effects on telomerase activity, melatonin rhythms and markers of biological ageing.

The current state of Epitalon research
- Cell research: studies reporting telomerase activation and telomere elongation in human cell cultures.
- Animal research: studies in rodents looking at lifespan and tumour incidence.
- Human research: small studies, mostly from the same research group, in older adults.
What do Epitalon studies show so far?
Laboratory studies reported that Epitalon increased telomerase activity in human cells, and animal studies reported effects on lifespan markers. Most published work comes from one research group, and independent, large controlled human trials are lacking.
Safety considerations and limitations
There is limited independent safety data in humans. Findings need confirmation by independent groups before conclusions can be drawn.
How to read Epitalon research without getting misled
- Check whether a result comes from cells, animals or people.
- Look at the study size, length and comparison group.
- Prefer peer-reviewed journals and trial registries over social media claims.
- Remember that early findings often do not carry over to later studies.
Bottom line for researchers
Epitalon is a popular ageing-research peptide with an early evidence base. MyPep Biotech supplies Epitalon 20mg vials at £28.99, plus two Epitalon blend pens. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
