DSIP Research & Studies Guide
Discover the latest insights on DSIP research & studies: what it is, what has been studied and what the findings show.
DSIP Research Guide: What the Studies Show
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a short neuropeptide studied in sleep and stress research since the 1970s. MyPep Biotech supplies DSIP for laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is DSIP, and why are researchers studying it?
DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated in 1977 from the blood of rabbits in induced sleep. It was named for its reported ability to promote delta (slow-wave) sleep in early animal experiments. Researchers continue to study its role in sleep, stress hormones and pain signalling.

The current state of DSIP research
- Early animal research: 1970s and 1980s studies on sleep patterns.
- Small human studies: early clinical studies on sleep and withdrawal.
- Modern research: limited, with the natural role of DSIP still not fully understood.
What do DSIP studies show so far?
Early studies reported effects on slow-wave sleep in animals, but human results were inconsistent. Researchers have not identified a specific DSIP receptor or gene, and its biology is still debated.
Safety considerations and limitations
Human data is old and limited. Findings should be treated as early-stage.
How to read DSIP research without getting misled
- Check whether a result comes from cells, animals or people.
- Look at the study size, length and comparison group.
- Prefer peer-reviewed journals and trial registries over social media claims.
- Remember that early findings often do not carry over to later studies.
Bottom line for researchers
DSIP is a classic sleep-research neuropeptide with an early and mixed evidence base. MyPep Biotech supplies DSIP 5mg and 10mg vials from £14.99, plus two DSIP blend pens. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
